Home Away Home, the Luxurious Dolphin Bay

A Fabulous Few Days in Wine Country

(PISMO BEACH, CA) – You might only stay one night, but once you check into these “lifestyle indulgences” you will wish you booked your stay for much longer. More than just a luxury inn, Dolphin Bay Hotel & Residences provides you every thing you need to extend your visit indefinitely.

What makes the Dolphin special is that the “rooms” are mini-residences with separate bedrooms and full kitchens decked out so well, you will be tempted to mimic the accoutrements in your own home. Add to that its ocean-front location, on-property fitness center, infinity pool, hot tub perfect for viewing sunsets, full-service spa, and its stand out restaurant and you have a hard-to-resist package.

Arranged as one and two bedroom suites, as well as three bedroom penthouses with fabulous ocean views, the rooms range from 985 to 2,000 square feet and are outfitted with custom-made cabinetry, appliances such as Wolf and Sub-Zero, granite countertops, walk-in closets, and plasma TVs. Of course the beds feature high-thread count designer linens and the color schemes are warm and muted.

In the Lido Restaurant, Executive Chef Evan Treadwell has created an interesting and varied menu that has a convenient twist. The notion of appetizer versus entrée has disappeared: all selections are available in two sizes and two prices, allowing guests to create their own tastings or stick with traditional courses.

Chef Treadwell has already won an “Award of Excellence” for serving extraordinary wine country cuisine. The Lido’s excellent breakfast might be viewed as an example of how serious this restaurant is. This basic meal, if it is fabulous after a difficult night of serving highly creative dinners, might give you indication that you will love everything the Chef puts on his menu. Lido’s breakfast received rave reviews for freshness.

Chef Treadwell provided WineCountry.com readers access to a few of this recipes:

Butter Poached Oysters with Zucchini, Leeks and Caviar
Ancho Braised Osso Bucco
Morel Custard
Pickled Ramps
Boulangerie Potatoes

Room rates range from $300 to $800 per night, based on single or double occupancy. They are a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
